These beams were milled from their reclaimed 1x6 exterior siding (see the before image--the white siding you see is first growth redwood). We found this when removing the siding. The backside had never been painted.

A few passes through the surface planer and sander led to an exciting discovery. And another design discussion. The clients were thrilled to re-use the original, first growth redwood, which can only be obtained by reclaiming.
